Juvo Energy — Non Final Demand and Carbon Capture and Storage

Non Final Demand and Carbon Capture and Storage

27th April, 2025

Juvo Energy is working with the CCSA on lobbying the industry to obtain a Non Final Demand exemption for Carbon Capture and Storage plants which are linked to energy generators.

Under the current DCUSA/ CUSC regulations, non final demand only applies to where use of electricity imported from the grid is for the purpose of generation or storage.  This means that proposed CCS plants with potentially sizeable import requirements which are connected to a generation station, will cause the generators exemption to be lost.

This ranges in cost from £50k pa to £1.5m pa based on current charges.
